This is the view from the side of the house. The castle is a miniature David Winter Cottage brought out as a Christmas decoration. I don't have this one in my collection but I do have one similar. I still have the chair cushions, tablecloth and curtains to make. Not sure if I like the material I bought to make them. I get an idea of what I want and hardly ever am I able to find it.

Well, I am nearly there. This photo is taken from the Lounge. You can see the Chippendale book case at the side. This was one of the first kits that I made. I am halfway through making some books for it. The lamp on the table is made from beads.

Slowly, Slowly!

The Dining room is progressing slowly. I spend a lot of time waiting for the paint to dry!! The door is just sitting there and only one piece of architrave so far. I decided on carpet for the floor, I tried the stained wood floor from my maid's bedroom but found it too dark with the paint and smallness of the room. The side view shows the opening through to the Lounge. I was trying for the look of a Federation divider. I wanted to be able to see the Dining room from the front.

Blue Dining Room

I set aside the whole of last weekend to spend on my dining room. Unfortunately my husband had other ideas. We had to pick up the twigs and branches that were still laying around from the wind storm from a couple of weeks ago on Saturday, then on Sunday because it was calm we lit a bonfire and burnt them all. It was nice to get out in the spring sunshine, I suppose, all our neighbours were doing the same thing, the smell of smoke and the noise of chain saws came from all directions. I had better add that where we live we all have 5 acre blocks and live in the country. Still I would have liked to do more.
I was a bit worried that the blue would be too blue but it dried a lot lighter than it was when wet.
